In 2026, the next chapter is set to arrive. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 landed this week, providing a brief look into the plot but leaving viewers curious how it will address the ending of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Toys
The preview shows the young girl — who inherited the toy collection when he left for college — getting a latest toy, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. She acquires her initial digital gadget, and she is excited about it.
Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will animate just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the toys appear to consider it as a danger coming to replace them, which it probably is.
Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
One thing the teaser avoids is why Woody is returned with his companions in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 depicted him embark on a new adventure with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), traveling with a carnival and helping prize toys locate loving owners.
Surely, the filmmakers will explain the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Seeing him show up in Bonnie's room without warning is a little strange, though. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have come back with Woody. And where is Duke Caboom (the star)?

The last thing the cowboy did before departing for his fresh path was hand over his symbol of authority to Jessie (the voice actor), entrusting her as the leader of the toy domain. In the teaser displays the insignia attached to her shirt.
Hopefully she is remains the driving force among the toys.
